In-person eventsRegistration

Ask registrants what your event needs to know

An in-person page’s form offered the name, the email and a fixed list to add from: phone, company, job title, address, postal code, country and a consent. A dietary requirement, a workshop choice or a T-shirt size had nowhere to go. The Form step now takes questions you write yourself, and each one gets its own column in the Registrants tab and the export.

The Dietary requirements question open on an in-person page’s Form step: its Question box, the answer type set to Multiple choice, its four choices with their drag handles, and Add a choice

The right kind of answer for every question

On the Form step of an in-person page, “Add a question” starts with the kind of answer: short text, long text, dropdown, multiple choice, checkbox, number or date. The question lands above the consents, already open, with the cursor in its Question box.

A dropdown or a multiple choice takes 2 to 50 choices, each one once, which you put in order by dragging them. A checkbox takes the sentence shown beside its box, and the other types an optional placeholder. A question with no wording yet, or a list without two different choices, shows Incomplete on its row, and visitors don’t see it.

A finished question works like the other fields: required or optional, shown only when an earlier answer matches, read by another field’s rule, moved to another step, filled in from the link and translated with the page. Visitors answer it on the page, in the embed and in a hub’s registration form, and a required question left empty is caught before anything is sent, with the message right under it.

Every answer in its own column

Each question is a column of the Registrants tab, in the order of the form. Search for a choice, Vegan for example, and the list narrows to the people who picked it. Requests waiting for approval show the same columns, and the Excel or CSV export gives each question a column of its own.

Answers stay as they were given: change a question’s type or rename one of its choices, and the answers already received are left alone. “Delete question” takes it off the form: its column stays in the list, under its last label and tagged Deleted, and its answers still go into the export. The Edit registrant window offers a text box for a long answer and a date field for a date, and the Add a registrant window asks your questions too.

Questions belong to in-person pages. A page built on a Livestorm or Zoom event mirrors that platform’s form, so its questions are written there.
