Connect Microsoft Teams

Link a Microsoft 365 account to import Teams webinars as an event source, and get the one admin approval Teams needs.
What it’s for
You sign into Venue with Livestorm — that creates your workspace. Connecting Microsoft Teams is an extra workspace link: it lets you build pages on the Teams webinars you organize or co-organize, with their registration questions, and register visitors on them from your page.
Teams asks for one thing the other sources do not: on top of your own sign-in, a Microsoft 365 admin has to approve Venue once for your organization before registrations can reach Teams. Venue tells you where you stand at every step and hands you the link to forward.
Open Settings → Integrations. On the Microsoft Teams row, click “Connect” (workspace admins only), sign in with the Microsoft account that organizes your webinars, and accept the permissions Venue asks for: they let it read your webinars and their registration form.
If Microsoft shows “Need admin approval” instead of that screen, your organization only lets an admin approve new apps. Back in Venue, the Integrations tab explains it and offers an admin approval link: forward it to a Microsoft 365 admin, and connect again once they have approved Venue.
Once connected, the Teams row reads “Approval needed” until a Microsoft 365 admin grants one more permission, the one that lets Venue register visitors on your behalf. Click “Grant permissions” if you are that admin, or “Copy link” and send it on. The row turns green as soon as the approval is recorded.
On the builder’s Event step, pick Microsoft Teams and choose a webinar. The form mirrors the webinar’s registration questions; build and publish as usual.
Good to know
- Only workspace admins can connect, reconnect or disconnect Microsoft Teams. You still sign in to Venue with Livestorm.
- Listing webinars needs a Teams Premium (virtual events) license in your Microsoft 365 organization.
- Until the admin approval is granted, a Teams page cannot be published. Visitors who registered on an already-published page while the approval was missing are kept and enrolled automatically once it lands.
- A Teams registration covers every session of the webinar, so a Teams page does not offer a per-session choice: registering once registers for the whole webinar.
- A custom “Legal terms” item added in the webinar’s Teams registration setup is not exposed by Microsoft’s API and blocks every registration coming from Venue. Remove it, or take registrations on the Teams page instead. Venue’s own terms consent is unaffected.
- If Microsoft stops accepting Venue’s sign-in (a password reset, 90 days without use, or the app removed by your IT), the row reads “Reconnect needed”: reconnect from the same row. Nothing you built is lost, and registrations that failed meanwhile are kept and retried.
- You can revoke Venue’s access at any time from the Microsoft Entra admin center (Enterprise applications → Venue).
